About MP3 Tag Editor
Our Mission
MP3 Tag Editor was created to provide a simple, secure, and accessible way to edit audio metadata online. We believe everyone should have access to professional-quality tools for organizing their music library, without the need for expensive software or complicated installations.
Why We Built This
Managing a music library can be frustrating when files have missing or incorrect metadata. Traditional desktop software requires installation, updates, and often comes with a learning curve. We wanted to create a tool that:
- Works instantly in your browser
- Respects your privacy (files never leave your device)
- Is free for personal use
- Supports all major audio formats
- Provides professional results
How It Works
Our editor uses modern web technologies to process audio files entirely in your browser. When you upload a file, it's read using JavaScript libraries that parse the metadata structure. You can then edit the tags, add album art, and save the changes - all without your file ever being uploaded to our servers.
This browser-based approach ensures maximum privacy and security while providing fast, responsive editing capabilities.
Supported Formats
We support all major audio formats:
- MP3: ID3v1 and ID3v2 tags
- FLAC: Vorbis Comments
- M4A/AAC: iTunes/MP4 metadata
- OGG/Opus: Vorbis Comments
- WAV: RIFF INFO tags
Free vs Pro
Our free tier provides full metadata editing capabilities for personal use. Pro users get additional benefits like batch processing (up to 50 files), instant processing with no queue, ad-free experience, and edit history.
We believe in keeping core features free while offering premium options for power users who need advanced capabilities.
Privacy & Security
Your privacy is our top priority. We never upload, store, or have access to your audio files. All processing happens locally in your browser. For Pro users, we only store account information and optional edit history (metadata only, never audio files).
Open Source
We use and contribute to open-source audio processing libraries. Our tool is built on technologies like jsmediatags and music-metadata-browser, which are maintained by the open-source community.
